Toni Cade Bambara was born in New York City on March 25, 1939. She was a African-American author, a documentary film-maker, a social-activist, and a collage professor. She graduated Queens Collage in 1959 and then studied mime in Ecole de Mime Etienne Decroux in Paris. After a while she became interested in dance before completing her masters degree in American studies. The first book that she published was "Gorilla, My Loved" in 1972.

What are some activities you enjoy doing that help show what kind of person you are?
The activity that I do that help people show who I am is when I mostly play volleyball because it shows them that I am very good at it and soon will be a professional player.
How do the activities you enjoy make you unique?
Playing volleyball makes me unique because I am the person that likes to play volleyball and always finds a way to do better at it. Like for me I feel that everyday I get better and better playing volleyball.
