Chapter 4: Who has won the Mastership
Discussion Questions:
1.) Describe Buck's qualities as the new team leader. How is he similar to Spitz? How is he different?
The way that Buck is similar to Spitz is that he is demanding and has everyone getting there work done like Spitz. Buck is different because he doesn't leave dogs out like the way that Spitz did and he doesn't take the other dogs food.
2.) Describe the man in Buck's dreams. What is the significant of these dreams? What is London trying to show us with these dreams?
The man that Buck is dreaming for is a guy that is nice, respect him, and doesn't hurt him. The significant of these dreams is that he will probably end up having the master that he wants but he will have to be patient in order to have the master. The thing that London is trying to show us in these dreams is that we can dream but sometimes those dreams that we dream will come true some of them won't and that if we dream of something we will have to be patient and wait for it to happen.
3.) What is the significance of Dave's death? Does it remind you of any other work you've read or of any event from your life? The significance of Dave's death was important because he was the dog that liked to get is work done fast so that way he can relax the rest of the days but since they where going from one place to p another and he was a lazy dog he needed rest but since they didn't rest at all not even for one moment he couldn't take it and was very tired so he just died. I have experienced someone that have died from my life and the sad part was that he died on my dad's birthday and my dad was crying a lot but the person that died was my great grandfather he was a good grandfather.

Activities: (choose one)
1. Create a poem, rap, or song detailing the qualities of a true leader.
2.) Write a journal entry telling about a time you had to get control over or lead a group. Tell what you did to take control. Had you intended to be the leader? If not, why did you take charge? How did other react to your actions?
3.) Write a journal entry or a letter from Buck to the Judge telling about his experiences and the changes they have brought him.
4.) Research "collective memory." Do you believe humans have this type of memory? Why or why not?
I don't think that we have this kind of memory because it is a memory that dogs or wolf's have it is a memory that does use to learn new things that they haven't learned and to remember how or when they did the things they did for example when a dog hide's its bone or chew toy under they dirt when they want to look for it they end up digging and digging until they find it and they know where they put it.
